2016 sees Computerworld entering its 27th year in Cardiff, and its 23rd year as an independent company, serving both Private and Public Sector organisations in South and West Wales and the West Country.
In some ways little has changed in that time; we still care about what we do which is evident in the number of clients who continue to rely on our expertise and attention to detail to support their business activities.
However, it is the constant change in technology which keeps us focussed on our core strengths whilst building and developing expertise in new market areas. After all it is that failure to adapt which causes businesses to stagnate and ultimately fail.
The growth of our activities in the Audio Visual arena is a case in point. The installation of Interactive Whiteboards in Schools and Plasma displays in the private sector has seen the growth of our activities in the AV Sector. Recent projects include the installation of a Digital Signage solution in a major hospital, the installation of a Video Wall and most recently a 3D projection system.
That's not to say we have neglected our main stream business markets with the continued growth of our Server and Storage business, in fact we recently sold the first IBM PureFlex system in the UK. Many of our clients have or are moving to a Virtualised Infrastructure, relying on Computerworld to identify the best hardware/software solution to meet their requirements, to work with them on capacity planning and ultimately the migration to a Virtual Environment. And it's not only the Health and Local Authorities that have virtualised, we recently worked with a local Housing Association and a Comprehensive School to migrate to a more cost effective and resilient Virtualised Infrastructure
However, we have not lost touch with our SMB clients and continue to actively work with businesses of all sizes to improve the way they utilise their technology to maximise their efficiency. Often we adapt the technologies we have implemented for the Corporate and Public Sector to meet the needs of the SMB, which is certainly the case in the provision of remote access.
